Red Ribbon supports the Bronx Community Merchant and Pastor Network, a nontraditional HIV prevention program which works with high risk individuals in places they would ordinarily go, such as storefront churches and small businesses. Network organizations also stock condoms and prevention literature.  Escorts for sub-specialty care are available to Montefiore Medical Center. Statistics from 2006 show that the Bronx had the second largest number of women among all persons living with HIV/AIDS in NYC’s five boroughs.  Women now account for an estimated 37.4% of new HIV infections nationally.
